Microsoft Co-Founder's Private Equity Firm Leads Seed Funding Round Investment to Marathon Education

Vietnamese education startups, Marathon Education, has raised further funds in its seed financing round led by Vulcan Capital, according to a release.

It is known that besides Vulcan Capital, other investment funds are involved such as Forge Ventures, DSG Consumer Partners, and Goodwater Capital. The deal value was not disclosed by the parties.

In the press release sent, the company said that the reason it is trusted by investment funds is that the company has a fast growth rate, more than 30% in the first year of operation.

Earlier this year, Marathon Education also announced successfully raising $1.5 million from YCombinator (startup incubators behind billions dollars worth of companies such as Airbnb, Coinbase, Reddit, Strip, and DoorDash), Forge Ventures, Venturra, iSeed, along with some angel investors.

Marathon Education was founded by Pham Duc - former investment manager at TPG Capital and Tran Viet Tung, co-founder of the travel technology platform Triip.Me and Christina's hotel chain.

This online education platform targets K-12 (K-12) audience in Vietnam by providing face-to-face interactive classes with small class sizes (from 10 to 12 years old). 15 students) or 1:1 class.

The company has rapidly developed a nationwide network of personal tutors with 30 educational consultants with an average of 20 years of teaching experience to provide high-quality exam preparation classes to learners. Currently, the platform allows access to all subjects according to the regular curriculum of the Ministry of Education and Training.

In the last quarter of the third quarter, Marathon Education also officially became the first online education platform to provide English learning and IELTS test preparation programs by native English, Australian and American teachers with international certificates of TESOL, CELTA, etc. TEFL and TESL teach under a proprietary academic program.

Pham Duc, Managing Director of Marathon Education said that with the new investment capital, the company will focus on building and developing new products such as programming courses, and fine arts, and improving Advances and upgrades current technology to enhance the user experience, improving student learning outcomes both inside and outside of face-to-face classes.
